MAKARSKA IN COLORS

PEAK SEASON (MAKARSKA – DALMATIAN NEW YORK)

The great Frank Sinatra once sang about New York, the city that never sleeps. In July and August, Makarska transforms into the Dalmatian New York, offering something for everyone in every corner, whether it's sports, entertainment, cultural events, or sSimply the unique pleasure of lounging on one of the many beaches. The town's promenade, a recognizable symbol of Makarska, buzzes with life nonstop during this period. In the early morning hours, You can watch the ferry arriving in the town’s port, buy fresh fish directly from a fishing boat, and reserve Your spot for a boat trip to the islands offered by local skippers. All of Makarska’s most significant cultural heritage is located along the promenade, like pearls strung on a necklace, awaiting Your visit: the Visitor Center, Town Museum, Kačić Square, St. Mark’s Cathedral, Kalalarga Street, the Franciscan Monastery, the Malacological Museum, the ‘Adrion – Heart of the Mountain’ Presentation Center, and the peninsulas of St. Peter and Osejava. The town’s central beach offers something at every step. If You’re up for some adrenaline-pumping activities, choose from jet skiing, parasailing, thrilling tube rides, or rent a stand-up paddleboard. If You prefer to stay on land, You’ll find a wide selection of electric and regular bikes, scooters, and quads available for rent, allowing You to explore the destination while combining sport, fun, and relaxation in one.
When night falls, the hardest decision will be where and how to enjoy Yourself. Will Your choice be a romantic dinner by the sea? Tasting Dalmatian cuisine in one of the charming taverns in the old town? Enjoying the local Fishermen's Nights festivities? Attending one of the concerts as part of the rich program ‘Summer in the city’? Or dancing in one of the town’s clubs?
Make sure to book enough nights at Hotel Park so You can experience it all!

PRE-SEASON AND POST-SEASON (HAVE THE MAGIC ALL TO YOURSELF)

Spring, early and late summer, and early autumn offer a unique experience when visiting the town beneath the Biokovo mountain. During this time, Makarska reveals itself in full, inviting guests to experience it in a more intimate way. CULTURE (IMMERSE YOURSELF IN THE DESTINATION’S CULTURE)

Culture is the invisible bond that connects people. It plays an essential role in personal growth and development, and for many years now, the culture of a destination has been a key factor for guests who want to experience the authenticity and uniqueness of the places they visit. Regarding this, Makarska truly has a lot to offer. From July to the end of September, the Maestral – a wind of hidden Makarska – breathes life into the rich history of the town through tradition, culture, art, and tourism. Locals, passers-by, and tourists connect as they discover Makarska through its hidden alleys, old crafts, and creative artists.
Whether You choose the Maestral DETOUR and explore the old town through storytelling, accompanied by the sounds of klapa, choirs or folklore ensembles, opt for Maestral COOLTOUR with its musical and artistic performances in authentic local settings, or become part of Maestral ARTE with its exhibitions of artistic installations, You won't go wrong. Unforgettable impressions and valuable memories are guaranteed!
If You are a fan of ethno music, the International METNO Festival is the perfect choice for You. Since 2008, this festival has been held in two locations – the plateau at Glavica and the Arte hall – gathering renowned Croatian and international ethno performers. The end of August is reserved for the International Jazz Festival, which has left a special musical mark on Makarska, establishing it as a jazz destination that hosts some of the biggest names not only in Croatian but also in the global jazz scene.
Make Hotel Park Your base and embark on a cultural tour worth remembering!
